Flight Officer Kal Valen Red Ribbon*
Starfighter: Headhunter.
Strangely for a child from a Losshaven border ranch family, Kal was obsessed
with stars and flying at a young age. Whilst close friends with the local Haven-Manor community, which enabled
him to acquire some of the tricks of the Havener martials arts styles, he continued to practice his piloting skills
hoping one day to join the Peace Corps as a Starfighter Pilot. This was unlikely to be realised until the Clone Wars
broke out - and old starfighter squadrons were resurrected.
Kal is only recently out of flight school, having picked up a little of the army basic training,
a knowledge of how to fly as part of a flight and - amazingly - how to use computers (rarely seen
on the back of a bantha!).
His role in the recent rescue of one of Y'vaath Slaars concubines and the freeing of numerous captured hostages
has made Kal a media figure, along with the rest of the pilots of the Ravens. Though not yet awarded a starfighter flash,
Kal proved to the satisfaction ofthe squadron he can operate effectively under fire.
*Red Ribbon - Awarded for action vs pirates on MN-622f where significant numbers of hostages were freed. Kal was severely injured, but continued fighting.
