Medj'k'ai Nebula - Famous Residents

This section highlights some of the most well-known people within the Medj'K'ai Nebula. Not all the planetary governors or leaders are listed as they are, perhaps, not as famous as those listed here.

Sector Governor Kasru Medj'D'mas

As his family name suggests, Kasru comes from a redoubtable Noble family - the Medj'D'mas - who adapt their allegiances and alliances depending on the political wind, all the while staying within the Medj'K'ai Nebula and it's environs. They have been highly-placed officials and bureaucrats in the Outer Rim for some time, often being the principal political figure in the Medj'K'ai Nebula whatever influences govern the Senate. The fact that the family has a 35% stake in Losshaven Engineering (LEC), and hold the rights to two planets within the Nebula is undoubtedly a key factor in their influence.

One of the planets they own, D'mas 1, is now lost within a dense nebulaic cloud whilst, the other, D'mas 2, features only very primitive life but (luckily?) plenty of mineral resources, making it the perfect place for the only penal colony within the Nebula.

The fact the Medj'D'mas have to charge the government for the privilege of hosting the penal colony and allowing it to carry out hard labour punishments in the open-cast mines is not lost on many political sceptics in the Outer Rim.

As a young man, Kasru gained the military training required of his family. Rumours that he has always tried to ensure he was safe, mainly being in the combat medical corps and eventually gaining a military desk job, are often scotched by his family and press corps who point out that he was posted to some "top-secret but very rough" locations. After his retirement he walked straight into his current role in the (conveniently?) vacant leadership position at the pinnacle of Medj'K'ai politics.

Tyanos Moy'inaar - MNMC COO

Tyanos is the chairman and Chief Operating Officer of the Medj'K'ai Nebula Mercantile Combine. Known to be tough in negotiations where he has the upper hand, and known to stall when he has not established such a position, Tyanos is liked by few outside the major Corporations. Nonetheless, within the MNMC, the LEC and, perhaps, the Trade Federation and Neimoidian people Tyanos is respected as a rough 'n tough dealer.

As much as a Neimoidian who likes the privileges of rank can be rough 'n tough, that is.

Y'vaath Slaar - Philanthropist

Known to be a philanthropist, and known also as a Twi'lek who has taken a stand against slavery, Y'vaath appears to be a unique amongst Twi'lek for his wish to support the abused. His drug and addiction rehabilitation clinic is the best in this sector, let alone the Nebula, and his "no drugs" employment policies are held up as an ideal by Republican law-enforcement agencies throughout the Rim Worlds.

Those who have met him have reported Y'vaath to be highly likeable and a marvellous host. One of his lekku is shorter than another: apparently the result of a drug-induced accident in the frozen wastes of Keysh'kar which altered his views on drugs completely.

It is possible that Y'vaath will sponsor worthwhile causes, particularly those relating to static or performing art. He is certainly one of the richer denizens of the Nebula, with influence in many places.

The Keyshkar Dance School

Y'vaath Slaar runs a dance school in his compound on the Keysh'kar equator. Its reputation is second to none: Twi'lek dancers come from all the surrounding sectors to train and advance in the seductive arts of Twi'lek and Lekku dance. His school is also famed for its theatre troupe, a group of freed Chev he bought from some Chevin traders, who decided to stay and work for him after they were freed: they now perform throughout the region. Whilst the elite socialites of the nebula gossip about his contacts with the Chev underground, and how he (apparently) sponsors one of the many the Chev freedom organisations, there is little or no proof that he does so.

Turuma the Hutt

Infamous rather than famous, Turuma's location is not known and is often the subject of rumour. According to the Nebula police, he is "Public enemy number one", a reward from a variety of sources now said to be in excess of 10,000Cr being offered for information leading to his capture.

The reward does not seem to be large enough as no-one, so far apparently, has come forward with such information. Or if they have, no arrests have been made.

Turuma is apparently behind much of the major and organised crime in this sector. Smugglers are said to pay him protection money or "taxes" to be allowed to operate in the Nebula; even major traders are rumoured to pay him protection money to buy off - or protect themselves - from well-armed pirates.
